Fresh Orange Carrot Ginger Juice

This is the juice that tastes like sunshine in a glass. Sweet oranges, earthy carrots, and a kick of fresh ginger — blended, strained, and ice cold. It is the drink you will actually want to wake up for, and it happens to be packed with vitamin C and beta-carotene. Best of all, you do not need an expensive juicer.

Ingredients

  • 4 large oranges, peeled and segmented
  • 3 medium carrots, roughly chopped
  • 1-inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • ice cubes to serve

Instructions

  1. Peel the oranges and remove as much white pith as you can — pith adds bitterness.

  2. Add oranges, carrots, ginger, and water to a blender.

  3. Blend on high for 60–90 seconds until completely pulverized.

  4. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve or nut milk bag, pressing to extract all the liquid.

  5. Serve over ice immediately for the brightest flavor.

Tips for Success

  • Chill the oranges and carrots beforehand so you can skip the ice and keep the juice concentrated.
  • For pulp lovers, skip the straining step — the fiber is great for you.
  • Fresh juice is best within 24 hours; shake well if it separates.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a juicer?
No. A blender plus a fine-mesh strainer (or clean kitchen towel) gets you 90% of the way to juicer quality.
Can I add turmeric?
Yes — a small pinch of black pepper plus a 1/2-inch piece of fresh turmeric boosts absorption and flavor.
Why is my juice bitter?
Usually too much white pith from the oranges. Peel them deeply and the bitterness disappears.
Why is my juice foamy?
That is normal — blending introduces air. Let it sit for 2 minutes or strain it through a fine-mesh sieve before pouring, and the foam settles right out.
Why is my juice too thick to drink?
Carrots blend very thick. Add a splash of water or extra orange juice to loosen it, or strain through a fine sieve for a lighter, juice-bar texture.
Can I store this juice?
Yes, in an airtight jar in the fridge for up to 48 hours. The pulp and liquid will separate as it sits — shake well before drinking (that is normal, not spoilage).
